Job Description
The Payroll Tax Analyst will bring creative and strategic solutions to the table to solve complex problems. You will evolve processes, challenge current thinking and prioritize opportunities. You will work across functional units to ensure success, manage tasks within a collaborative environment while keeping tasks prioritized.
Collaborate with teammates to create efficiencies with state and local agency submission and follow up
Communicate with state agencies on behalf of several clients and projects
Gather, collate, interpret and following up on project data with clients
Handle quick and accurate completion of government forms, talking to state agency representatives, and handling rate transfers
Work with a dynamic prioritization list based on client needs, agency responses, and new project workflow
Manage risk in a thoughtful, wise, and logical manner
Evaluate and assess the programs strengths and weakness in an evolving environment
Prepare and submit simple forms to the relevant tax agencies.
You will report to Tax Manager
Qualifications
3 years’ experience with payroll taxes, specifically unemployment insurance, state withholding tax and local withholding tax
3 years’ experience assisting clients directly with payroll complexities and resolving issues
Understanding of the SUTA Dumping Prevention Act of 2004 and the additional compliance reporting
Knowledge of tax laws around reporting in different states
Experience in payroll tax filing issues and resolution
Experience registering, filing, and resolution for payroll tax accounts across multiple states
Experience dealing with dated material and strict adherence to deadlines
